Pelling is a small town in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim, at the foothills of Mount Khangchendzonga. The late-17th-century Buddhist Sanga Choling Monastery has mountain views. Pemayangtse Monastery features wall paintings, sculptures and a gold-plated statue of Guru Padsambhava. Overlooking a valley, the 17th-century Rabdentse Palace, now in ruins, still has evidence of the king’s bedroom and kitchen.

YUKSOM
Yuksom is a historical town in Geyzing subdivision of West Sikkim district in the Northeast Indian state of Sikkim. It was the first capital of Sikkim established in 1642 AD by Phuntsog Namgyal who was the first Chogyal of Sikkim.

Yuksom literally Means “Three lamas”. Historically in the year 1642 AD the first king of Sikkim Phuntsok Namgyal was consecrated here in the very place where the majestic Norbughang Stupa stand today.
Yuksom also serves as the starting point for the more daring adventures to trek to the valley of flowers “Dzongri” at 14,000 ft. & further to Goechala Pass at 17,000 ft.
Khechopalri lake is the first destination on the trekking route from Pelling. The route traverses through villages, cardamom fields and streams. There are Trekker’s hut for accommodation and also a dormitory in the monastery. The view of this clean lake is beautiful from all directions. Khechopalri Lake Khecheoplari Tsho is a large lake located 27 kms from Pelling and is a common tourist sightseeing point. The lake is considered to be one of the sacred lakes of Sikkim. The lake remains hidden in the rich forest cover. It is believed that birds do not permit even a single leaf to float on the Khecheoplari lake surface. The sacred lake lies in a depression surrounded by prayer flags and forested hills. By the lakeshore is the small Lepcha village of Tsojo, and about 1.5km above the lake is the Khecheoplari Gompa. Tourists and locals offer prayer at the lake and also feed the pool of fish in the lake.
The place is popular among trekkers. There is also a walking trail from Pelling to Khecheoplari (5 hours). It is possible to trek to Yuksom from Khecheoplari or those interested in spending a night or two in this place, there are a few basic accommodation in the village nearby. There is also a pilgrim’s hut meant to provide accommodations to the people who come on pilgrimage tours to Khecheoplari.

Changey Falls one of the wonders of nature surging amidst the valley of Kalimpong can be found at a short distance of 14km from Lava. Changey Falls is the highest altitude fall in North Bengal and it has added charm to the beautiful hamlets nearby.
The journey toward Changey Falls is full of ups and downs since the road is not well maintained but the view during your journey can compensate for the rough road and there is a quote saying ‘It’s a rough road that leads you to the heights of greatness’ and your journey towards Changey Falls will live up to the quote. Still this place is unknown to many people but those who have been to Changey Falls they all have been awe-inspired by the view of this great 400ft waterfall.
One of the few unexplored villages in Sikkim, Darap has retained the pristine nature of its flora and fauna over the years. It is situated at an altitude of 1600 m and the temperature here ranges from -5 to 28 degrees.
This village is in the interiors of the Himalayan belt and only recently was it discovered and prepared for tourism. The local people known as Limboos have preserved their rich culture and traditions since ages and are extremely welcoming by nature. There are a lot of tourist-related activities that can be done in Darap village like trekking, traditional house visits, handicraft making, bird-watching and visiting the caves at Kanchenjunga National Park etc.
Sewaro Rock Garden, is a natural hermitage developed by the department of tourism of Sikkim and it has become one of the popular tourist attractions in Sikkim. The winding paths exploring the lush green landscape enriched with flowery fields and well-groomed trees; the chirping of the colorful birds giving a tuneful company along; and the gushing water of Teesta river enthusiastically making its way through the tough rocks, are the features that make this place a favorite picnic spot for the families especially with kids. The Sikkim department of tourism has also added few engaging amenities like swimming pools, well-stocked cafeterias as well as vantage points for stunning view of shrubby hills underneath pitch blue sky.
Khangchendzonga National Park also Kanchenjunga Biosphere Reserve is a National Park and a Biosphere reserve located in Sikkim, India. It was inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list in July 2016, becoming the first “Mixed Heritage” site of India.It was recently included in the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme.
Kaluk is the small village located in the Himalayan foothills of West Sikkim, near the West Sikkim capital of Gyalshing in North India. Kangchenjunga, the world’s third highest peak, is visible from Kaluk.

Singshore Bridge, a 198 metre suspension bridge is located at a short distance of 5 km from Pelling. It is also the highest bridge of Sikkim and second highest gorge bridge in Asia. The Singshore Bridge was built 16 years ago by connecting two hills. It is situated 25 km away from Pemayangtse Monastery. The government of Sikkim is likely to set Bungee jumping activities on the bridge, soon. Close to the bridge lies the Uttarey village, which falls near the Nepal boundary or commonly called as Chia Bhanjyang.
