Bankiput is an unexplored virgin sea beach nearby Contai (Kanthi). Bankiput is perfect for people looking for a quick weekend gateway from Kolkata, away from the maddening crowd at Digha and/or Mandarmoni. 160 KM from Kolkata.
Junput is an attractive tourist spot and a beach resort, which is extremely popular with holiday-makers. It is located in the district of West Midnapore. If you want to enjoy your holiday in a tranquil atmosphere and in close proximity with nature, then Junput is the perfect destination for you.
Baguran Jalpai, an uncharted and a tranquil beach destination on the Bay of Bengal, is just 165 km away from Kolkata, completely secluded and peaceful, far away from the discord of urban lives. The entire length of the beach is bordered with dense forest of casuarina and is completely devoid of tourists. One of the reasons for that is the place is a relatively new entrant in the tourism map of West Bengal, hence not many people are aware of its beauty and serenity. While it is true that you can barely find a human soul on the seashore, millions of red crabs inhabit the place, and as a result the beach turns red when they come out of their tiny little holes in the sand.
If you are a beach lover, living in West Bengal, and a beach destination is on the top of your mind, and looking for options beyond the popular choices (of Digha, Mandarmoni, Tajpur and Shankarpur), then Bankiput, Junput and Baguran Jalpai is the perfect option for your next weekend getaway. The place is very close to Kolkata and is along the same stretch as the beaches mentioned above.
